Someone asked for a prologue - about my life so far. Hopefully this short introduction will suffice.
I was born (at a very young age) in Doncaster in the north of England. My parents are farmers, and their parents before them etc. I went to some crummy comprehensive school, then some crummy sixth form college. Luckily I was pretty good at Maths, and managed to get an offer to go to Trinity College, Cambridge as long as I got two E's or better. For those who don't know, this is about as tricky as getting laid in a brothel.
Although I was a good boy until I went to uni, I soon turned bad. I nearly got kicked out in my second year for missing an entire term, but managed to avoid that and finished up with a respectable 2:1 in Maths.
Then I moved down to London to work as a computer programmer for HSBC investment bank. I only managed to do the job for a few months before I got totally bored and quit to play poker full time. After making a few k, I got bored of that as well and decided to go and train to be a teacher. I worked at a college teaching A-levels (16-18) and coaching tennis for a while, then got interested in Magic again and quit.
I moved in with some other gamers, Dave Ball, Sam Gomersall, and Alan Mai, back in October of last year. On my first night in London I met Sarah who was mentioned in my earlier post. She asked for my phone number because she said I seemed 'very confident'. Since then I've pretty much been playing Magic, qualified for a couple of Pro Tours but only went to Venice (final score 3-3). Upcoming events are GP Amsterdam in a couple of weeks, then Euros three weeks after that. Should be good.
Aside from Magic I have a couple of job interviews upcoming, back working in computer programming, but they'll have to wait until after Amsterdam.
Recommendation of the week:
Electric Ballroom in Camden is a surprisingly good club, even though I don't particularly like rock music. Recommendation 2: don't smoke pills, not worth it

That was very frustrating. I just spent 5 mins typing a reasonable update, then I click submit and get 'database temporarily down'. How annoying. Now I have to retype.....
And again. This time I held it in copy/paste. How insanely lucky.
I still haven't decided what sort of thing to put on here. I would appreciate some suggestions, and as long as it's not too personal, on it goes...
Sarah rang me earlier today. She said she didn't want to meet any more, and to be honest I think she's right. We had split up back in January. I keep telling people it's because I got annoyed with her asking me to move in. That wasn't the real reason I guess. Maggie brought a couple of her friends from Australia to London, and I went out drinking with them. Anyway one of them ended up staying with me for the weekend, so I cleverly decided I should make up some pathetic bullshit excuse and split up with Sarah. I didn't even like Asten, so I have no idea why I did it. Probably because she was 19, and Sarah was 31.
Anyway Sarah has decided she's definitely going to Portugal with her son Daryl (11), so I hope they do great over there. Now I feel slightly more motivated to do something with my life than sit around playing cards. I really need a job and to go out and meet more people than just Magic players (although some of them are great guys/girls)
Someone send me some feedback, so I can tell what sort of thing to put on here in future. Maybe another update later this morning, who knows?

I did mean to spend a long time writing about myself for this first entry. But on the other hand, it's 1pm and I'm somewhat hungry. Fish, chips, and Onion Rings await etc. This is classic english cuisine, which is why no-one comes to the uk for the food. Anyway, I'll write a proper first entry sometime later this afternoon.
Current mood: hungry Current music: Counting Crows - Mr Jones
